Stephen Graham Hopson

On May 16, 2025, originally from Philadelphia, PA; Loving father of Jillian Matysik (Andrew) of Haddon Twp, NJ and Justin Hopson of Mount Pleasant, SC; Beloved partner of Lois Schaeffer of Philadelphia, PA and Devoted grandfather of James, Gemma & Graham Matysik and Hannah & Hope Hopson.

Stephen was a proud and dedicated member of the law enforcement community. He enjoyed a highly decorated career as a Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration, where he served with distinction. Stephen also embraced entrepreneurship, founding Hopson Associates Private Investigative Firm and owning Brownies Irish Pub in Olde City.  Stephen had a lifelong commitment to fitness and made exercise a regular part of his routine, valuing discipline and physical strength. Throughout his life, Stephen embodied the principles of the law enforcement oath to “protect and serve.”  He was a constant source of love, strength, and protection for those closest to him, always generously stepping in to help others without hesitation.

Stephen’s family will receive friends & relatives on Thursday, May 22nd, starting at 10 AM, at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield, NJ; where his Memorial Service will follow at 11 AM.  Interment, private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Stephen may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Donations, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959, www.stjude.org/memorialgifts
