Sarah "Sally" North

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sarah Williams North, who passed away peacefully at home on April 20, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family, who will miss her dearly. Sarah is preceded in death by her late husband, Edward Wales North and her parents, Thomas and Mary Williams.

A longtime Haddonfield resident, Sarah (fondly known as Sally) was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She lived a long and fulfilling life, touching many along the way. She will always be remembered for her zest of life, interminable positivity, humor and above all, her unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Sally’s network of friends, whom she loved dearly, meant the world to her.

Throughout her life, Sally was known for her abiding commitment to her family. Sally was a devoted mother to her children John North (Lisa), Elizabeth Meeteer (Frank), Linda Compton (Chris) and William North (Katherine) who will remember her always.

Sally was also a fun-loving and proud grandmother to her grandchildren Sarah, Edward, Fritz, Frank, Abigail, Sam, Rebecca, and Patrick and great-grandmother of C.J. who will always cherish the memories and family vacations they shared together. Sally loved spending time with her family playing games, sharing a meal or simply enjoying each other’s company.

Sally had a passion for travel and the theatre (especially musicals) and was an avid card player. She loved nothing more than playing Bridge and socializing with her friends. Her presence will be sorely missed at the Bridge table and the Forty Club of Haddonfield. Sally loved living in Haddonfield and participated in a multitude of community activities over the years which brought her great joy. Especially the parades!

In her passing, Sally leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the memories of those she touched. May she rest in peace.

Sally’s family will receive friends on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 11am- 12:15pm at Kain-Murphy Funeral Home, 15 West End Ave. Haddonfield, NJ 08033 where her memorial mass will immediately follow at 12:30p. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in Sally’s name to InterFaith Caregivers, PO Box 186 Haddonfield, NJ 08033.
