Lucinda M. Olson

Age: 30 of New York City, Formerly of Haddonfield

Lucy Olson, beloved wife, daughter, sister and granddaughter, passed away on November 19th from breast cancer. She was 30 years old.

Lucy grew up in Haddonfield, NJ and was a 2010 graduate of HMHS. She earned an undergraduate degree in horn performance and music education from the Eastman School of Music; she also earned a Master’s of Music in horn performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. She performed with orchestras at the Aspen Music Festival, Kendall Betts Horn Camp, and Monteux School & Music Festival.

Lucy lived with her husband Brian in Sunnyside, Queens. She worked as an elementary and middle school music teacher at PS/IS 128Q, Middle Village, NY where she taught 700 students annually for six years.

Lucy loved running 5K races and eating ice cream. She always looked forward to summer vacations on Long Beach Island. She was devoted to her family and especially to her dog Rollo. She is survived by her husband, Brian Olson, her parents, Liz and Lauris Olson, her sister, Lotte (Michael) Balangue, and her grandmother, Judy Fielder.

Service and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations in Lucy’s name can be made to Metavivor .
