David Beaman Potts

On January 19, 2019, age 90, former resident of Haddonfield, NJ. Beloved husband of Virginia (nee Lovell) for 66 years. Loving Father of David B. Potts, Jr., Barbara A. Potts, William J. Potts and dear brother of Mary Alice Love, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

After graduating high school in Gibsonburg, Ohio, Dave spent 2 years in the army, followed by four years at Springfield College in Massachusetts. He was then employed for 20 years by the YMCA in several locations. He also worked for Health & Welfare Council and then Family Service of Philadelphia.

He was active the Haddonfield community, volunteering with the YMCA and Interfaith Caregivers (Past Pres.) for many years.  David was a member of the Y’s Men’s Club, American Legion Post # 38 and the Haddonfield United Methodist Church.  He also played the Sax & Clarinet in the Haddonfield Pick-Up Band and The Brass & the Beat dance band.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16, 2019, 10:00 – 10:45 AM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield, NJ; where his Service will follow at 11 AM.  Interment, private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Interfaith Caregivers, P.O. Box 186, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.
