Theresa Ricci Hargrove

Age 98 of Haddon Heights, formerly of Haddonfield

Theresa passed away peacefully at home in Haddon Heights on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the age of 98.  Born in Trenton, NJ, Theresa was a resident of Haddonfield for 74 years before moving to Haddon Heights.  She was predeceased by her mother and father, Adelina and Alfred Ricci and her sister, Eleanor O’Brien. Theresa is lovingly survived by Sharon Dardine of Lewes, DE, Mark (Heidi) Hargrove of Cortlandt Manor, NY, Lisa Knoll of Haddon Heights, NJ; her grandchildren Julie (Andrew) Crosson of Asheville, NC, Jennifer Knoll of Haddon Heights, Daniel Knoll of Philadelphia, Linton (Alexandra) Hargrove of Larchmont, NY, and Christina (Scott) Crum of New York, NY and four great grandchildren.

Theresa graduated from Haddonfield Memorial High School in 1938.  She worked at RCA in Camden, NJ after graduation.  Years later, after her children were grown, she worked for the Haddonfield Middle School and with the Child Study Team.

Theresa was called Nanny by many of her friends in NJ and “Mother Theresa” as many called her while visiting in DE, was well loved by her family, many friends and admirers.  Always kind, loving and quick witted – to the very end.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, March 14, 11 AM, at Christ the King Church, 200 Windsor Ave., Haddonfield, NJ. Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a donation to Moorestown Visiting Nurse Association, 300 Harper Drive, Moorestown, NJ  08057.

Constance A. Bimmer

Age 86 of Turnersville, NJ

(nee Coppolino); On March 6, 2019; of Turnersville; Age 86; Beloved wife of the late Richard A.; Devoted mother of Patricia Tobin of Philadelphia, Jeffrey Tobin of Woodbury and Kevin Tobin of Jackson; Dear step-mother of Jeffrey R. Bimmer of Midlothian, VA; Loving grandmother of Richard Bimmer and Grace Tobin.

Friends are welcome to greet the family on Tuesday, March 12th from 10 – 10:45 AM at Trinity Christian Chapel, 269 Greentree Rd., Sewell, NJ 08080, where a Celebration of Life for Constance will begin at 11 AM.  Interment private.   In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Constance may be made to Trinity Christian Chapel at the address above, where she was a longtime member.

Vilma Ferzola

Age 98 ~ A longtime Haddonfield resident

(née Albertelli) on March 3, 2019, age 98, longtime Haddonfield resident, wife of the late Louis Gardine and the late Joseph Ferzola.  Beloved mother of Thomas, his wife Rosie, and Robert, his wife Kimberly.  Treasured grandmother to Matthew, his wife Tania, Rebecca, her husband Justin, Raymond and William.  Loving great-grandmother to Tatum, Lucy, Jacob and Eve.  Loving sister to Eddie Albertelli, Evo Albertelli and Inez Tinghitella.

Vilma had been actively involved in the Haddonfield community.  She was on the Senior Citizens Advisory Board for the Mabel Kay House and a faithful member of the Christ the King RC Church for many years.  Vilma was a talented artist and her oil paintings are cherished by family and friends.

Vilma’s family will receive friends on Friday, March 8th, 6-8 PM and on Saturday, March 9th, 9:30-10:30 AM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield, NJ.  All are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, 11 AM, at Christ the King R.C. Richard W. Wolf, Sr.

Age 91 of Haddon Heights

On February 15, 2019; Age 91; of Haddon Heights, NJ; Beloved husband of the late Patricia (nee Jackson); Devoted father of Rick and Elisabeth Wolf; Loving grandfather of Lila and Nina Wolf; Cherished brother of George Wolf; Dear father-in-law of Joan Wolf.

Richard, a former resident of Haddonfield, NJ, Bucks County, PA and Naples, FL, was a well-known musician, song writer and musical arranger of the 50’-60’-70’s.  His most notable work includes the arrangement of the song “Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny, Yellow Polka Dot Bikini”.  Richard also wrote and arranged musical scores for Nat King Cole, including “Welcome To The Club” and “Got a Match”.  He was nominated for 2 Grammy Awards, one in 1969 and again in 1971 for his Children’s Chorus including the hit song Rubber Ducky.  Richard also directed the Harlem Children’s Chorus in the 1960’s and 70’s and was Arthur Godfrey’s business partner and musical arranger in the late 60’s.

Janet L. Williams

Age 83 of Riverton, NJ formerly of Stratford, NJ

(nee Perry); On Feb. 11, 2019; of Riverton, NJ; Age 83; Beloved wife of the late Howard Williams; Devoted mother of Karen L. Hoisington, Mark A. (Susan) Hoisington and Scott D. Hoisington; Loving grandmother of Alison (Jason) Thomas, Megan (Michael) Maryott, Todd Hoisington and Leah Hoisington; Dear great grandmother of Isaac and Emily Thomas, Madelyn, Riley and Jackson Maryott; Former spouse of Rodney J. Hoisington.

Janet, a former resident of Stratford, NJ, was a member of the Jersey Sound Chorus/Sweet Adelines for over 25 years.  She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Haddonfield for 48 years, and was as a Hand Bell player, Choir member and served on many church boards.  Janet was a secretary for RCA, Lockheed Martin and retired from Rabil & Robka Law Firm.

A Celebration of Life Service for Janet will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 1:00 PM at The First Baptist Church of Haddonfield, 124 Kings Hwy E., Haddonfield, NJ  08033, where her family will greet friends after the service.  Interment Private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Janet may be made to The First Baptist Church of Haddonfield, at the address above.

Mollie Hartman Reynolds

Age 75 of The Evergreens in Moorestown, formerly of Haddonfield

Long time Haddonfield resident Mollie Hartman Reynolds, age 75, beloved wife of 57 years of William W. Reynolds, Jr. passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 5, 2019 surrounded by loving family and the superb caregivers at The Evergreens in Moorestown.

The daughter of Alvin H. and Margery M. Hartman of Wellesley, MA, she was the mother of William W., III (Rena), of Ft. Myers, Fl, James M. (Joy) of Collingswood, NJ, and Rebecca B. Reynolds of Highland Park, NJ also the beloved sister of Robin (Beverly) and the late Peter Hartman of Wellesley, MA.  She was the proud grandmother of Isaac, Henry, Graham and Emilia,

A graduate of Briarcliff College, Briarcliff Manor, NY and Katherine Gibbs School in Boston, she worked as an administrative assistant, taking time off to raise her children then resuming work as a teacher at the First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield Pre School.  She was also active as a volunteer at Bancroft and Interfaith Caregivers, and she was a member of Haddonfield United Methodist Church.

Jeannine H. Thomas

Age 99, of Surprise, AZ, former longtime Cherry Hill, NJ resident

(nee Henson) On Jan. 4, 2019; Age 99; of Surprise, AZ; formerly a longtime resident Cherry Hill, NJ.  Beloved wife of the late Oren R. Thomas, Jr.; Loving mother of Oren R., III (Teddy) of Haddonfield; Devoted grandmother of Oren R., VI of Atlantic City, NJ and Adam P. of Long Beach, NY; Dear great-grandmother of Oren R., V of Haddonfield; Sister of the late Charlene Millard; and Good Friend Janet Birdsall.

Jeannine was raised in Des Moines, Iowa and attended Iowa State University.  She was a secretary for many years at her husband’s architectural firm and then continued her career at her son’s law office, both in Collingswood, NJ.  Jeannine was a long-time member of Tavistock Country Club and loved playing bridge and golf.

David Beaman Potts

Age 90, Formerly of Haddonfield

On January 19, 2019, age 90, former resident of Haddonfield, NJ. Beloved husband of Virginia (nee Lovell) for 66 years. Loving Father of David B. Potts, Jr., Barbara A. Potts, William J. Potts and dear brother of Mary Alice Love, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

 

After graduating high school in Gibsonburg, Ohio, Dave spent 2 years in the army, followed by four years at Springfield College in Massachusetts. He was then employed for 20 years by the YMCA in several locations. He also worked for Health & Welfare Council and then Family Service of Philadelphia.

 

He was active the Haddonfield community, volunteering with the YMCA and Interfaith Caregivers (Past Pres.) for many years.  David was a member of the Y’s Men’s Club, American Legion Post # 38 and the Haddonfield United Methodist Church.  He also played the Sax & Clarinet in the Haddonfield Pick-Up Band and The Brass & the Beat dance band.

 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16, 2019, 10:00 – 10:45 AM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield, NJ; where his Service will follow at 11 AM.  Interment, private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Interfaith Caregivers, P.O. Mary A. Gartland

Age 97 of Haddonfield

On January 20, 2019, age 97, Sister of Noreen Schlitt (Ludwig) of Haddonfield, NJ, Bernard J. Gartland (Diane) of La Quinta, CA.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, many grandnieces & nephews and a growing generation of great grandnieces & nephews.  Known to most simply as “Aunt Mary.”

Mary was born in the Elmora section of Elizabeth, NJ, graduated from Holy Trinity HS (Class of 1939) in Westfield, NJ and attended Pace Institute.  She was employed by the Ethel Corp as a manager of the statistical typing unit and remained with the company until her retirement in the Early 80’s, when she moved to Haddonfield to be with her sister.

After retirement, she dedicated her energy to her grand nieces and nephews and became a major part of their lives.

Funeral Services and burial were held privately.

William T. Carson, Jr.

Age 86 of Pine Valley, NJ

On January 19, 2019, age 86, former longtime resident of Haddonfield, New Jersey. Survived by beloved wife, Mary (nee Guarnieri) of 61 years. Loving father of William F. (Kathy) of Princeton Junction, NJ, Carolyn C. Lang (Douglas) of Arlington, VA, Margaret C. Kacergis (Robert), of Malvern, PA, Maureen C. Kiernan (Joseph) of Lake Forest, IL, John G. (Ann) of Haddonfield, NJ and Robert J. of Cherry Hill, NJ. Grandfather of 18, Douglas Lang, William F Carson, Jr, John Lang, Robert Kacergis, Alyssa Lang, James Kacergis, Julianne Carson, Elizabeth Carson, William Kacergis, Emily Carson, MaryBeth Carson, John Kacergis, Annie Carson, Michael Kacergis, Joseph Kacergis, John G. Carson, Jr, Mary Kacergis and Carolyn Carson; and 12 step grandchildren and cherished brother, James B. Carson.

Born and lived most of his life in Haddonfield, NJ, Bill attended Haddonfield Memorial High School before earning his undergraduate and graduate degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN. Bill then served his country as a lieutenant in the US Navy before entering the private sector.  After leaving the Navy, Bill and his brother, James, operated a textile manufacturing company located in Haddonfield, NJ, Philadelphia, PA and York, SC for 30 years. Upon retiring from the textile business, Bill co-founded Covenant Bancorp, located in Haddonfield, a publicly traded bank that was subsequently acquired by Wachovia. He was also a director of MedQuist, a publicly traded medical software technology company, and the past Chairman of the Board of the Coriell Institute in Camden, NJ.

In addition to his business interests, Bill was an avid golfer and a member of many golf clubs. He was a longtime member of Pine Valley Golf Club and served as the Mayor of the Borough of Pine Valley from 2003 to 2009. A member of Tavistock Country Club for 71 years, Bill was its 17th president and on its board for 25 years. Bill also served many charitable organizations including past board member of the Southern New Jersey Blood Bank and on the finance committee of the Diocese of Camden.

Bill’s family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, Jan. 22nd, 6-8 pm, at Kain-Murphy Funeral Home, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield, NJ.  All are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Jan. 23rd, 11 am at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 200 Windsor Ave., Haddonfield, NJ.  Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ.
