Ivan H. Avery

Age 81 of Weatherly, PA; Formerly of Cherry Hill, NJ

On August 21, 2019; Age 81; of Weatherly, PA; formerly of Cherry Hill, NJ. Beloved husband of Rachel Ann; Loving father of Renee (Chris) Boyd of Berwyn, PA and Lindsey (Chris) Lucente of Cherry Hill, NJ; Dear step-father of James (Linda) Lloyd and Steven (Michelle) Lloyd; Proud grandfather of Aiden & Summer Lucente, Trevor, Brooke, Hope, Charlie, Grace, Jackson & Josie Lloyd.

Ivan was a former resident of Cherry Hill and longtime member of First Baptist Church of Haddonfield. Over the course of a thirty-year career with Cigna Corporation, Ivan founded Recovery Services International, a global insurance recovery company that specialized in finding and recovering lost marine vessels.

Ivan’s Viewing will be held on Thurs., Aug. 29, 2019, 1-1:45 PM at the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield, 124 Kings Hwy E, Haddonfield, NJ 08033; where his Funeral Service will follow at 2 PM. Interment at Baptist Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Ivan may be made to the First Baptist Church at the address above.

Michael A. Koehne

Age 62 of Cherry Hill, NJ

On August 3, 2019; Age 62; of Cherry Hill, NJ.  Brother of Mark Koehne, Margaret Rose, and Peter Hawley; Uncle of Lauren Rose Geyer, Christian and Katherine Rose, Kirsten, Thomas, James, and Emily Koehne; Great-Uncle of Grant Robert Geyer; Dear friend of Kent Mezaros, David & Christina Stanton, Lou Fiume, Scott and Michael Busch.  Michael is predeceased by his parents Thomas & Virginia, and brother John.

Michael was a very loyal employee of Stanton Insurance Group in Haddonfield for over 10 years.

Claire A. Harden

Age 93, of CherryHill, formerly of Haddonfield and Westmont

On July 23, 2019, age 93, of Premier Cadbury in Cherry Hill, NJ, formerly a longtime resident of Haddonfield & Westmont; Beloved mother of Bobbie Herbs (Michael) of Mt. Laurel, NJ and Sherrie Knaster (Charles) of Gilbertsville, PA; Loving grandmother of Kayla Herbs, Cara Knaster (Isaak Schaffer) and Krysta Knaster (Jon Morris) and Cherished great grandmother of Charlette & Rose Schaffer and Amelia & Delphine Morris.

Claire was a remarkable athlete, playing Field Hockey, Basketball, Tennis & Softball at Collingswood HS (Class of ’44) and at Temple Univ. (Class of ’48), while receiving her Physical Ed. Degree, she continued to play Field Hockey, Basketball & Tennis. She taught for 35 years and coached basketball at Holy Cross HS in Riverside for 21 years, compiling a record of 235-124, including a championship in 1964. Claire was inducted into the Collingswood HS Athletic Hall of Fame (HOF), Temple Athletic HOF, SJ Basketball Coaches HOF & Holy Cross HS HOF for coaching, SJ Coaches HOF, WJ Field Hockey HOF for athletics & umpiring, and the NJ Basketball Coaches HOF. Additionally, she was an honorary umpire for the US Field Hockey Assoc.

Claire’s Memorial Service will be held on Sat., Sept. 14, 2019 at 11 AM at The Baptist Church of Haddonfield, 124 Kings Hwy E., Haddonfield, NJ; Greeting immediately following the service. Interment, private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Claire may be made to American Macular Degeneration Foundation, PO Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061-0515(www.macular.org)

Joyce B. Paller

Age 88 of Haddonfield, NJ

Carolyn Myers Berger

Age 98 of Medford, NJ formerly of Haddonfield, NJ

Age 98, passed away on July 16, 2019.  She was born in Bangor, PA to the late Bennett and Jennie Smith.  She was predeceased by loving husbands John B, Myers, Jr. and Gilbert A. Berger.  She lived in Haddonfield, NJ for over sixty years before moving to Medford Leas Retirement Community.    Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joan Myers Collins and Susan A. Hargrave and their husbands, John M. Collins and Robert T. Hargrave, as well as five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at 11 AM in the chapel at the First Presbyterian Church, 20 E. Kings Highway, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield, at the address above.

Harry J. McCormick

Age 84 of Voorhees, NJ

Harry McCormick passed away peacefully on July 12, 2019, his 84th birthday. Born in Philadelphia, he was a resident of the city for more than 80 years before recently moving to Voorhees, NJ. Harry graduated from St. Joseph’s Preparatory School in 1953 and attended Villanova University for two years. He then studied at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary as he considered a priestly vocation. Harry completed his undergraduate education at LaSalle College with a degree in English.

Harry taught at Cardinal Dougherty High School for several years before taking on a management role with the Philadelphia Housing Development Corporation. His later career included several years in the insurance business, and operating his commercial/residential painting business.

Harry loved baseball, music (particularly opera), and reading. Most of all, he enjoyed conversation with family and friends.

Harry is survived by his children Joseph, John, James, Nicholas and Geriann; and 22 grandchildren.

Harry’s family will greet friends on Wed., July 17th from 9:00-10:45 AM at Christ the King RC Church, 200 Windsor Ave., Haddonfield, NJ 08003 where his Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM. Andrew I. Keay

Age 98, of Medford Leas, formerly of Haddonfield, NJ

On July 11, 2019, age 98, of Medford Leas, formerly of Haddonfield, NJ & Chatham, MA, Beloved husband for 64 years of Sylvia (née Art); Loving father of Lisa Keay Hurd (Peter) of Haddonfield & Todd Keay (Kate Duke) of Flagstaff, AZ; Cherished grandfather of Emily & Paul Hurd. He was one of six siblings and was recently predeceased by his 99-year-old brother, John Keay.

Andy began his career in NYC at the Blue network which became ABC Radio. He then moved to WFIL Television.  He went on to serve as a marketing executive at N.W. Ayer and retired as VP of Marketing at Ewing Cole, an architectural firm in Phila.

Andy was a member and loved golfing at Tavistock Country Club & Pine Valley Golf Club. He also loved Chatham, MA, an area he began enjoying in the 30’s as a camper and later at his “home on the Cape.”

Andy’s family and friends are invited to his memorial service on Friday, August 2, 2019, 11:00 am, in the Theater at Medford Leas, 1 Medford Leas, Medford, NJ; where his family will receive friends following the service.  Interment, private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Andy may be made to the Barton Arboretum and Nature Preserve of Medford Leas or the First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield, 124 E. Robert M. Schaeffer

Age 81 of Haddonfield, NJ

On July 2, 2019, of Haddonfield, NJ;  Husband of the late Dorothy (nee Dragonette); Loving father of Jennifer; Survived by brother, Allan; 12 nieces, nephews & cousins.

Thomas G. Patton, Jr.

Age 88 ~ Longtime Haddonfield Resident

On June 23, 2019, age 88, longtime Haddonfield resident, Beloved husband of Lenore (nee Allen); Loving father of Cheryl Everill (Richard) of Collingswood, Gayle Hobbs (Tim) of Bakersfield, CA, Thomas G., III (Catherine) of Dillsboro, IN & Amy Weckesser (Tommy) of Haddon Twp.; Grandfather of 14; Great Grandfather of 24; Great Great Grandfather of 1 and Dear brother of George Terry Patton of Bethlehem, PA and the late Patricia Watkins (Al).

Tom was a wonderful musician.  He had been the Haddonfield Middle School Music teacher for many years.  He was a founding member of the Haddonfield Symphony, played, composed & arranged for the SJ Youth Orchestra & Friends as well as founding & being the conductor of the Haddonfield Pick-up Band.  Additionally, Tom proudly served in the Korean War and was a longtime member of The American Legion Post # 38.  Tom loved corny jokes & music and enjoyed being a lifeguard for many years at Wildwood & later Crystal Lake.

David Joseph Creato, Sr.

Age 53 of Haddon Twp., NJ

On June 21, 2019, Age 53 of Haddon Twp., Beloved husband of Lisa; Loving father of David Jr. & Sarah; Adoring Pop Pop of the late Brendan; Cherished son of Florence & the late William Creato and son- in-law of Arthur Becker & Arlene McCone; Dear brother of Jeffrey (Barbara) & Paul (Jennifer) and uncle of many nieces and nephews.

David was a great outdoorsman – he loved hiking, going for motorcycle rides, skydiving, music and playing with his dog, Cali. He loved his family especially being a Pop Pop.
