Alison Novack

Age: 73 of Haddonfield, NJ

(nee Donovan): On March 14, 2024.  Alison is survived by her devoted husband Tom; her children Stacey Novack, Heather Robinson, and Brett Novack; her grandchildren Mattea Segal, Eliza Segal, Josie Robinson, and Calvin Robinson; and her brother, Dennis Donovan.

A dedicated caregiver with a love of cooking and an eye for home design, Alison devoted her life to creating a welcoming and nourishing home for her beloved family. She had a gift for bringing people together for holidays and special occasions, and was known for overflowing, delicious food spreads and festive décor.

Alison was avid reader who always had a stack of books at her nightstand, which she loved passing along to friends and family, including her oncology nurses. She loved gardening, walking on the beach, and watching the Florida sunsets.  Alison treasured her fluffy four legged babies who kept her close company and provided many hours of entertainment and joy. Along with the many special places in her heart, Alison deeply valued Pathfinder Village near Cooperstown, NY, loving home to her son Brett for the last 20 years. Above all, Alison, cherished spending time with her grandchildren, children, and her beloved husband, Tom.

Alison’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 20th from 4-6 pm and again on Thursday, March 21st from 10 – 10:45 am at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield, NJ; where her funeral Service will immediately follow at 11 am.  Interment will take place at Haddonfield Baptist Cemetery in Haddonfield, NJ. Ethlyn “Lynne” M. McCall (nee Kolste)

Age 84 of Medford, Nj

On March 11, 2024: beloved wife for 60 years of Harry H. McCall, Loving mother of Heather (Doug) Chevalier and the late Andrew McCall, caring mother-in-law of Denise McCall; treasured grandmother of Jessica (Billy) Abildgaard, Annalise McCall, Andrew McCall, Jr., Matthew (Rachel) Chevalier, Danielle Chevalier and Hope Chevalier; Cherished great grandmother of William Abildgaard and Dear sister of Karen Corcoran, Jack Kolste and the late Bonnie Haddon.

Lynne grew up in Haddonfield and graduated from Haddonfield Memorial High School. After her marriage, she and Harry made their home in Medford where they raised their children. In their early married years, they were active in the Lakes Sports Car Club and drove in many road rallies in Lynne’s TR3. Lynne worked in medical offices as a secretary before her children were born. When her children were growing up, she worked from home doing medical transcription. She returned to medical offices after her children left the home until her retirement. Lynne loved going to the beach in the summer, and loved swimming in Mimosa Lake. She was an avid reader, loved doing crossword puzzles, and eagerly set extra places at the table whenever anyone showed up.

Nancy P. Krieger

Age: 95 of Haddonfield and Avalon, NJ

(nee Parent) On March 9, 2024. Devoted wife of the late Harry Krieger, Jr.; mother of Susan Joan (Ken) Harris and Judith (Kenny) Krieger Rogers; grandmother of Keighley Harris, Tracey (Mike) Harris Mangold, Alec Rogers, Lukas Rogers and the late Jake Rogers; and great-grandmother of Parker and Roarke Mangold.

A lover of good stinky cheese and fine dining, family time and travel, Nancy also treasured any and all time spent relaxing in Avalon, gazing out at Pennsylvania Harbor. She thrived on staying active and social – getting together as often as possible with her mahjong pals, bridge group and book club, and participating in garden club. She also found time to volunteer with both the New Jersey Committee of the Philadelphia Orchestra and Planned Parenthood.

Anyone who knew Nancy is well aware that she was a huge sports fan. The Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Penn State football were her primary loves, but she could also watch tennis or golf for hours…and give you a rundown on all of the above (plus the Sixers), in great detail!

Robert Vincent Spangler

Age 75 of Haddon Twp, NJ

On March 8, 2024; Beloved partner of Susanne Schmitthenner of Haddonfield, NJ & Dutch Mt., PA; Loving father of Carl (Sherry) Spangler and Melanie Spangler both of Westville, NJ.  He was predeceased by his wife RuthEllen and his grandson Michael.

He worked as a journeyman electrician and proud member of IBEW 592 & 351 for 35 years.

Mary V. Frain

Age: 98 of Audubon and Haddon Heights, NJ

On March 7, 2024, nee Conway, Age 98, of Audubon and Haddon Heights, NJ.  Wife of the late Michael J., Sr; Devoted mother of Maureen Kayati, Michael Frain (Maria) and Fr. Brian Frain, S.J.; Cherished grandmother of Katelyn Clancy (Shawn), Moira Frain (Zach Armstrong), Alyssa Kayati (Broc Johnson) and Jillian Kayati; Loving great-grandmother of Kamryn, Lexi & Matteo Clancy and Kaiden Johnson; Beloved sister of Bernadine Conway Scott and the late Margaret Conway, Kathleen Conklin, James Conway, Josephine Melia, John Conway, Dorothy Trucksess and Eileen Dykan; Dear friend of the late Lorraine Wisneski and Cass Farrell. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and former son-in-law George Kayati.

Mary was a strong woman with a true Irish wit. She had a loving heart and family meant everything to her.  She cherished Friday nights with her mother and sisters as they chatted, laughed and enjoyed Manhattans.  Mary had a strong devotion to the Lord, the Blessed Mother and a deep faith which was evident in every aspect of her life.  She was a member of the Legion of Mary and assisted with 1st Way of West Collingswood.  Mary’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters and great-grand babies.

Mary’s family will greet friends on Tuesday, March 12, 2024; 9:30 – 11:15 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, 300 E Kings Hwy, Haddon Heights, NJ 08035; where her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM.  Interment at New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary may be made to Jesuits USA East Province, 39 E. 83rd St., New York, NY 10028.

William J. White

Age: 96 of Haddonfield, NJ

Died on March 2, 2024.  He was the beloved husband of Joyce Whaley White.  They were married 71 years.  Born in Delaware of the late Thomas J. & Emilie L. White.

Bill was a veteran of World War II having served as a sergeant in the US Army Air Corps. He was stationed in Marseille, France.  Following WWII, Bill continued his education at Brown Preparatory School then attended Gettysburg College and graduated in 1951 with a degree in Personnel Management. He also did graduate work in Industrial Safety Engineering at the University of Delaware. Bill was employed as Assistant Personnel Manager (Congoleum-Nairm, Wilmington, DE), as Personnel Manager (Speakman Co., Wilmington, DE ), as Personnel Director (Read Standard, York, PA) and as Personnel Director (Kollsman Motor Corp., Dublin, PA). In Palmerton, PA he served as Assistant Personnel Manager for 11 years and then as Manager of Safety & Industrial Hygiene for 10 years for the NJ Zinc Co.  Upon retirement Bill taught 6 years as a substitute teacher & learning support aide in the Pleasant Valley School District.

Community interests included being a Mason and member of Lafayette Lodge # 14 AF&AM, Wilmington, DE, serving on the Board of Directors of the Lehigh Valley Safety Council for many years and volunteering as Committee Chairman for Scout Troup 209 Trachsville, PA.  He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Palmerton, PA.

Bill was a tremendously positive role model for his children, son-in-law and grandson. He loved animals, especially horses and dogs and his dear Tawny.  He enjoyed supporting his children’s sporting events when they were growing up. Later he was a talented and enthusiastic gardener, avid reader and enjoyed taking his wife and family on cruises.

Bill is survived by his wife, Joyce Whaley White; daughter Melissa White Slauson of Haddonfield, NJ and grandson Matthew White Slauson of London, England and son David W. White and his wife Michele E. White of Shinglehouse, PA. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Francis H. Slauson (Skip).

Family and friends are invited to Bill’s Celebration of Life Service, Sunday, March 10, 2 PM (remember Daylight Saving time) at Grace Episcopal Church, 19 Kings Hwy. East, Haddonfield, NJ.  Interment will follow in the Church’s Memorial Garden.  Memorial contributions in honor of Bill may be made to the Animal Welfare Association, 509 Centennial Blvd., Voorhees, NJ 08043.

Age: 84 of Haddonfield, NJ

Robert "Bob" Creighton, Jr.

Age: 83 of Haddonfield, NJ

February 25, 2024. of Haddonfield, NJ, age 83. Son of the late Robert Creighton, Sr. and Elizabeth (Mildred) Creighton (nee Rockwell). Beloved husband for 57 years of Judith (nee Coombs); loving father of Amy Creighton (David Searles) of Philadelphia, Alex Creighton (Patsy) of Chapel Hill, NC, and Jessica Winton (James) of Haddonfield; cherished grandfather of Marshall, Sophia, Brooks, Beckett, Sophie, Trevor, and Jameson; dear brother of Nancy Elliott, Elizabeth Constantino, Lois Creighton, and the late Janet Carpenter; and treasured uncle of many nieces and nephews.

A native of Garden City, NY, Bob was a 1962 graduate of Colgate University where he played soccer, and he earned his MBA at Columbia University in 1967. During 1962-1965, he served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Little Rock during the Cuban Missile Crisis and teaching calculus, ending his service as a lieutenant. He worked most of his career at Breyers Ice Cream in Philadelphia, retiring in 1992 as dairy division president at Kraft Foods. He fully enjoyed a long retirement, with a particular fondness for his Figure Eight Island beach house and serving on the board at Tavistock Country Club where he was the men’s senior club champion in 1998 and 2002 and was in charge of the course renovation in 2007 & 2008.  He took immense pleasure in financial planning, portfolio management, and helping others. Bob also was one of the Haddonfield Soccer Club founders, youth soccer coach, Philadelphia Futures mentor, American Liver Foundation chapter president, and Union League of Philadelphia member.

The world lost a true gentleman, who will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, kindness, loyal friendship, and quiet dignity. He loved playing golf, all dogs, ice cream, every Philadelphia sports team, Alex’s UNC Tarheels, great scotch, dancing, wearing funny hats; and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. Words cannot describe how deeply he will be missed.

Marion D. Eckhardt

Age: 101 Longtime Resident of Haddonfield

(nee Drummond) Marion, the widow of Adrian S. Eckhardt and Ensign Thomas M. Pettit U.S.N.R., passed on February 20, 2024.

She is survived by her two sons Lawrence (Annette) of Haddonfield, NJ and Kenneth (Tim Scholten) of Freeport, NY. She is the loving grandmother of Anna Eckhardt (Michael Findlay) of Brooklyn, NY, Laura (Craig) Klein of Cinnaminson, NJ and Dr. Sarah (Dr. Iain) McGraw of Glasgow Scotland and great grandmother of 4.

Marion was a graduate of Moorestown High School, class of 1940, and a longtime employee in the office of the Campbell Soup Company in Camden, NJ.

She was a veteran of World War II, having served in the USNR W.A.V.E.S. as a yeoman 3rd class.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family with interment in the Camden County Veteran section at Harleigh Cemetery in Camden, NJ.

Patricia A. Candee

Longtime Haddonfield resident

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 18th, 2024. She grew up in Burlington, New Jersey and graduated from Burlington City High School (Class of ‘65) and then from Salem College in West Virginia (Class of ’69) which is where she met her husband, Bill. They raised their three children in Haddonfield, New Jersey. For 25 years, Patricia taught 8th grade Language Arts at Haddon Heights High School. She taught creatively and with humor, and was able to connect with her students in a truly special way. She received the 1994 Governor’s Teaching Recognition Award for the Haddon Heights High School and was invited to Princeton University for the Governor’s Convocation on Teaching Excellence.

Patricia was an avid reader, cook, and baker. Her ‘monkey bread’ was legendary. She also loved to sew. After retiring from teaching, Patricia opened an Etsy shop named ‘Giggles & Toots’ where she showcased her incredible sewing skills. She sold nearly 1,000 personalized pillows, and her unique designs even caught the eye of Simplicity, a sewing pattern company, that purchased several of her patterns. But nothing brought her more pleasure than making pillows and many other special creations for her seven adoring grandchildren.

Patricia’s happy place was Surf City in Long Beach Island, NJ. She grew up spending summers in LBI with her Aunt Margie. Later, she, Bill and their children would build their dream home in the lot next to her aunt’s home. That house, filled with her children and grandchildren, brought Patricia so much joy and happiness. Summer bucket lists were always fulfilled, and countless memories of family dinners, bake-offs and dance parties were created that will never be forgotten.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, William E. Candee; daughter Kendra C. Damiecki (Scott) of Darnestown, MD; son William T. Candee (Emily) of New Canaan, CT; and daughter Lori C. Bush (Jamie) of Washington, DC. She was the beloved Noni of Layla & Hadley Damiecki; Cole, Amelia & Gray Candee; and Harper & Addison Bush.  Patricia was the matriarch of the family, was so loved by all that knew her, and will be greatly missed.
