William E. Meehan, Jr.
Bill died on December 13, 2021 from pancreatic cancer, age 67, at his Valley Forge, PA home. He was a longtime resident of Haddonfield, NJ. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathy (nee Byrne), his daughter, Lily, and two brothers, Brian and Bruce, and their families.
A former bank trust officer and business owner, Bill was an author, historian, collector, and recognized expert on American Art Deco industrial design. Plans are underway to donate his collection of more than 700 household items from the 1930s and 1940s to the Figge Museum in Davenport, Iowa for exhibition and preservation.
Bill was also a passionate fundraiser for the Historical Society of Haddonfield. He wrote two volumes of Haunted Haddonfield, a collection of historic ghost stories and legends, to benefit the Society. Each October he presented his popular Haunted Haddonfield walking tours.
Visitation will be held from 10-10:45 AM on Monday, December 20th, at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services in Haddonfield and his Memorial Service will follow at 11 AM.
