Susan Helen Swierczynski

Age 77 of Haddonfield, NJ

On March 29, 2021, age 77, of Haddonfield & formerly of Philadelphia died.

Susan was born at Chelsea naval hospital in Massachusetts to Helen Mary & Aloysius Anthony Swierczynski. She was the beloved sister of Mary and Eleanor Swierczynski & the late Robert Swierczynski. Susan was the fun-loving aunt of Augie Swierczynski, Jane Moore, Tracy Khalid, Bobby Swierczynski, Laura Hawley, spouses and their children.

Susan grew up & lived in South & then Northeast Philadelphia.  In her senior year at St. Hubert’s high school, she received the algebra prize.  She excelled in math.  Susan was a devout Catholic, & at age 18, entered the convent & became a nun in the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth.  After 5 years, she left the religious life.  She began working at Bell telephone & learned computer programming, which was a new field at that time.  She worked there for over 20 years & held many diverse positions in different depts.  She married Ronald Magee, later divorced and remained friends all her life.

After early retirement, Susan continued to serve her faith, donating her time & resources to Christ the King Church social & faith-based programs. Susan was known to family, neighbors & friends for her good humor, light-heartedness & great generosity. Additionally, during her retirement, Susan completed a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Holy Family College.

Susan had great fun with her niece’s & nephew’s children & took great pleasure treating them to shopping trips, eating experiences & family get togethers.

Susan’s family and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, April 7th, 11 AM, at Christ the King RC Church, 200 Windsor Ave., Haddonfield, NJ.  If you are unable to attend in person, you may view Susan’s Funeral Mass live via Christ The King Church’s live stream at www.ctkhaddonfield.org
