Age: 83 of Denver, CO formerly of Haddonfield, NJ

(nee Frauendorf)  On Saturday May 13th, 2023, Norma, age 83, passed away peacefully at home due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease. She lived next to her daughter in Denver, CO; but was formerly a longtime resident of Haddonfield, NJ; Beloved wife of the late Ralph E. Good; Loving mother of Karen A. Good of Denver, CO and Cherished aunt of Elaine Baker & Carl Frauendorf.

Norma was a scientist and an artist who received her PhD in Ecology from Rutgers Univ. in New Brunswick, NJ in 1965.  She met her husband Ralph while studying at Rutgers and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Society of Sigma Xi for the encouragement of scientific research. Norma and Ralph formed a bond both academically and as life partners, working together researching and co-authored numerous articles on saltwater marsh ecology and New Jersey’s Pine Barrens. Their passion for the preservation of the New Jersey Pinelands supported the creation of the Pinelands National Reserve by Congress in 1978. Norma also worked for many years at the scientific journal BIOSIS in Philadelphia.  Additionally, she enjoyed walking through town, gardening, cooking, and going to her farm in rural Maryland. She collected art and antiques and enjoyed attending many exhibits at the Philadelphia Art Museum and performances at the Philadelphia Orchestra. She will be remembered as a kind neighbor and a keen observer with a quick wit and wisdom.

Norma’s internment will take place on Wednesday, May 24th at noon, Locustwood Cem., Cherry Hill, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Norma’s name may be made to the Rutgers University Foundation in support of the Ralph E. and Norma F.
