Marvin Woolard, Jr.

Age: 87 of Lawnside

Marvin Woolard Jr. was born December 27, 1938 in Williamston, North Carolina to Marvin Woolard Sr. and Ella Woolard. He passed away on April 22,2026.

Marvin had a gentle spirit and a kind heart. He was a proud veteran who served his country with pride and dignity in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 – 1969, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant (E4) during the Vietnam War.

Upon returning to civilian life, Marvin decided to assist his father and brother with the family business (Woolard and Sons’ Demolition). He adjusted quickly to his new job and surroundings.

Though his professional world was one of demolition, Marvin himself was a serious collector of antiques. Many of his items consisted of potbelly stoves, golf clubs, irons, and toys. He always believed that another man’s trash would be his treasure.

Marvin also collected baseball, hockey, basketball and football cards.

He would spend Saturdays browsing card shows, flea markets and other venues for unique and unusual items.

Marvin’s artistry of care was most visible at his home in Lawnside, New Jersey. He was a resourceful man who took immense pride in his home and garden, ensuring that it was always polished and welcoming. He left his family with vivid memories of his beloved Navy Blue Cutlass and those unforgettable summer rides through Dayton, Ohio. When he was not tending to his home, Marvin was a loyal watcher and fan of the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Cincinnati Reds.

Marvin cherished his family. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Woolard (Nelson), His children, Rachelle Childress (Glen), Beverly Norvell, Benita Davis, Joseph Coleman (Kim), Yolunda Dews (Darrell), Marvin Woolard III, his sister Gloria Moore (John). He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Woolard, Sr. and Ella Woolard, his sister Jackie Coleman, and his brother Jerry Woolard.

He leaves to mourn a host of great grandchildren, grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
