Loretta was born November 27th, 1934, in Pennsauken, the eldest of four children to the late Louis and Helen Soistmann. She graduated Merchantville HS in 1952. She was a member of the girls basketball team and made lifelong friendships with teammates and classmates. A loving and devoted mother to her seven children, she was known for her strength and resilience, especially after her divorce, where she cared for her family as a dedicated homemaker. Her resilience and love deepened further after her daughter Ann suffered a traumatic brain injury at the age of 13. Loretta was determined to make every effort to ensure Ann’s road to recovery brought her back to the family home, where Ann could receive the best possible support and quality of life. Her advocacy, compassion, and endless devotion to Ann’s care and wellbeing remained every day of her life.
Some of Loretta’s favorite pastimes were reading, watching movies, gardening, and spending summers at the Jersey shore. But Loretta most enjoyed spending time with her family, always finding joy no matter the setting or gathering, and wishing every moment could last a little longer.
Family and friends are invited to greet Loretta’s family on Saturday, December 21st from 10:30-11:15AM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 W. End Ave., Haddonfield, NJ; where her Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 AM. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill, NJ.
