Age 89 of Haddonfield, NJ, formerly of Nutley, NJ

Beloved husband for 55 years of Georgia (nee Basile); Loving father of Tracy Noone (Matthew) of Haddonfield, NJ, Joseph C. Verga (Miriam) and Toni Deis (Matthew) both of Westfield, NJ; Cherished grandfather of Sean & Kyle Noone, Tessa, Ruby, Alessandra & Elizabeth Verga and Daniella & Nicholas Deis.

Joe was born June 13, 1931, in Jersey City, the son of the late Peter and Rose (Briguglio) and raised alongside his 6 older brothers and sisters. He proudly served in the U.S. Army before becoming a power engineer with Western Electric/NJ Bell/Lucent Technologies/Verizon for 40 years. He raised his family in Nutley, and lived there for over 30 years before retiring to Renaissance at Manchester in Manchester, NJ where he enjoyed playing golf, bowling and playing on the Renaissance Rebels softball team.

Joe was kind, humble, dependable and fun; he enjoyed dancing and he and Georgia always impressed on the dance floor together; he loved Frank Sinatra; he was a lifelong fan of the NY Giants and Yankees; but most of all, he loved his family and let them know in so many ways.

Joe’s family and friends are invited to his Memorial Mass on Friday, January 8^,2021 at 10:15 AM at St. Helen R.C. Church, 1600 Rahway Ave, Westfield, NJ 07090. Interment, private. Masks & social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Joe may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org)
