John H. Brownell, Sr.

On May 13, 2023, age 98; Beloved husband for 73 years of Marietta (nee Shivers); Loving father of John H. Jr. (Patte) of Franconia, PA and the late Marilyn Hutchinson (the late Donald H.);  Cherished grandfather of Laura Hutchinson White (Peter), Marie Hutchinson Elcin, Holly Hobson Hartline (Greg), Katie Brownell, and Stephanie Brownell and adoring Great Grandfather of 7.

Jack grew up in Haddonfield and is a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield.  He proudly served as a Sgt. In the US Army Air Corps during WWII and is a 77-year member of the American Legion, Haddonfield Post #38.  Jack is also a 50-year member of the Grange and was active for over 60 years with the Boy Scouts, Troop 64 in Haddonfield; where he was awarded the Silver Beaver & Good Shephard awards.  Additionally, Jack was an Artisan and owned his own Photography business, specializing in Wedding Albums for many years. Jack and Marietta were active members of the Airstream Club and enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. with their Airstream for many years.

Jack’s family will receive friends on Friday, June 2, 2023, 10-10:45 AM at the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield, 124 Kings Hwy. East, Haddonfield, NJ 08033; where a Celebration of Jack’s Life will follow at 11 AM.  Interment, Haddonfield Baptist Cem.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church at the above address.
