James J. Dennion, IV

Age 66 of Eastampton, NJ

After a battle with Acute Leukemia, Jim went to be with his Lord on Sept. 27, 2020.  Jim, age 66, had been a longtime resident of Burlington & Eastampton, NJ. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (nee Gatzke); Loving father of Matthew (Mariesea), Mark (Danielle) & Julie Dennion; Devoted grandfather of Serene, Savannah & Kelsea Dennion; uncle to Joe Dennion; brother of the late Jerry Dennion and uncle of the late Nicole Dennion. Jim was adopted and in later years reconnected with his birth family. He will be missed by his birth mother, Cecelia, and siblings: Michael, Mark, Mitchell, Martin, Julie and Patrick.

Jim was a gifted Special Education teacher at Burlington Co. Special Services School District for over 20 years and often tutored after school. Past students would often tell him how much he influenced their lives in a positive way. He was a longtime active member of the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield; where he taught Sunday School, was a Youth Leader and served on many boards. Additionally, he coached and was a Boy Scout leader when his children were youths.

Jim had many special summers at the Jersey Shore with family and proposed to Sandra there. He got one last visit a few weeks before he passed. He loved reading books to his kids, fishing, golf, scifi, singing songs from Sinatra to hymns to rock, creating “Top Ten” lists with his sons and unwinding with his wife after a long day. Jim loved hugging his granddaughters and letting them know they were princesses. We will miss him dearly.

Jim tried to live his life by the scripture – “As for me and my household we will serve the Lord.”

Jim’s Services will be held on Sat. Oct. 3rd, 11 AM, in the back parking lot of the Easton Bible Church, 2407 Fostertown Rd, Hainesport, NJ 08036; where the family will receive friends following the Service from approximately 12 to 1 PM.
