Jacqueline Mirabile

Age 84 of Haddonfield, NJ

(née Houle) On Dec. 31, 2021, age 84 of Haddonfield, formerly of Montgomery County, PA; faithful daughter to the late John Bernard Houle & Genevieve Houle; longtime devoted caregiver to her late husband Anthony M. Sr.; loving mother of Anthony M. Jr. (MaryAnn) of Haddonfield; cherished mémère of Anthony J., Thomas M., and MaryAnn M. Mirabile; and dear sister of Raymond (Nancy) Houle, Richard (Mary) Houle, Robert (Candace Pratt) Houle, Ann (Mark) Creaven, and Joann Houle. She was fond of many nieces, nephews, cousins, family-members, and friends.

Born and raised in Vermont among the Québécois, Jackie had played piano & organ at various parishes to help pay for her education; she was Valedictorian of Mount Saint Mary Academy, Burlington, and a proud alumna of Trinity College, Burlington (Class Secretary; major in history, minor in math). After earning her master’s degree in library science from Simmons College, Jackie worked nine years at the Free Library of Philadelphia, then several more years at a regional patent company. For nearly thirty years, Jackie provided dedicated, exemplary professionalism as a reference librarian (and team leader for information and research assistance) at Falvey Memorial Library at Villanova University, until retirement in 2011. She was a devout Catholic (at times a daily communicant) and longtime active parishioner at St. Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill, PA. Additionally, she was an avid reader, and enjoyed crossword puzzles and gardening; a co-worker dubbed her the “Queen of Scrabble”.

Jackie’s family will receive friends on Saturday, Jan. 8th, 10-10:45 AM, at Christ the King RC Church, 200 Windsor Ave., Haddonfield, NJ; where her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, W. Conshohocken, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Augustinian Province of Saint Thomas of Villanova (www.augustinian.org).
