John “Jack” E. Powers, III

Age 52 of Hammonton, NJ

On March 12, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer, Age 52, of Hammonton, formerly of Haddonfield & Clayton, Beloved Dad of Savanna Claire Munyan, Riley Hunter Powers and Laura Jacklyn Powers, Dear Companion of Patricia “Trish” Bowersfield and her son Weiland; former wife, Pamela Powers, Precious chosen son of Barbara Falisi (the late James); Loving brother of Gina Brasington, Erinn Albertini, Stephanie Mattielli, Sean Powers, Lynn Saracino (Pete), James Falisi, Tracy Puglia and the late Leroy Hall and the late David Hall; Cherished sister-in-laws Janet Hall & Michelle Dias Hall; treasured nephew of Jean Couch (Ken), Robert Powers (Betty), Nancy Whaley (Kevin) and Lorraine Falisi; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and amazing friends.  Predeceased by his parents Sonja & John E. Powers, Jr.

Jack graduated from Clayton HS, joined the US Air Force, and upon his honorable discharge began his career.  He worked in security and a few restaurants as a manager before attaining his dream job of following in his dad, John Powers, Jr.’s footsteps as a Police Officer.  He proudly served in the Haddon Twp. Police Dept. for almost 20 years before a car accident causing disability forced an early retirement.  He was also a longtime umpire for little league, girls’ softball and HS baseball.  He even umpired at Cooperstown.  Additionally, he loved soccer, watching sports, and chatting with friends, but most of all he loved his family, especially his children.  He was looking forward to going to Riley’s College graduation this May, proud of Laura’s beginning her first year of nursing school at Purdue Univ. and Savanna’s work ethic and success in her field.

Jack’s family will receive family and friends on Saturday, March 18th, 9-10:45 AM in the Sanctuary of the Haddonfield United Methodist Church, 29 Warwick Rd., Haddonfield, NJ 08033; where his Memorial Service will follow at 11 AM.  Interment, private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Jack may be made to the “College Fund of Laura Powers,” c/o P.O. Box 34, Haddonfield, NJ 08033 or via Venmo @LauraPowersCollegeFund

For those that cannot attend in person when the service begins at 11 AM, it will be live-streamed.  This link  https://boxcast.tv/view/celebrating-the-life-of-john-powers-of0ql8sueq3ozfupwzhu will become active at that time.
