Geraldine "Gerri" Miller
(nee Ober) Passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 24, 2024. Gerri was the devoted wife of the late Bill; Cherished mother of Glen (Nancy), Susan (James Wheatley) and Jeffrey; adoring grandmother of Nicholas, Laura, Christina, Lisa, James and Jeffrey, Jr. Gerri will also be sorely missed by many nieces and nephews.
Gerri was born in Osage, NJ and was 1 of 10 children. She was known as the heart of her family. She kept in close touch with all of her extended family of many nieces and nephews and their families. She loved and was loved by many lifelong friends. She never met a stranger, easily making new friends wherever she went.
As a young mother, she dedicated her time to serving the Catholic Church. She was an active member of the Alter Rosary Society and gave countless hours of help wherever she was needed. She cherished preparing and service at the Bishops dinners. Later in life, while she was retired in Naples Florida, she was very honored to be commissioned a Eucharistic Minister.
Gerri dedicated years of her life operating the family- owned Waste Services Company, Super Kwik, Inc., with her husband Bill. The Super Kwik team and associates were like family, and she remained lifelong friends with many of them.
After retiring, her passion was helping underprivileged children with Grace Place in Naples, FL. She served on the board of directors and was instrumental in the development of the new school campus. Her favorite parts of volunteering were interacting with the children after school, playing games and helping with their homework.
Gerri loved to spend time at the shore, going for boat rides and traveling to new places. She always had a positive outlook and found the silver lining in every situation. She was blessed by God in many ways and never hesitated to pass the blessings on to others. She always surrounded herself with family and friends and was known for heartfelt joy and laughter. She was also a great listener and made time to support others in need. Her love and compassion extended to animals as well. Gerri adopted many dogs and cats in her lifetime including her beloved dog, Mazie.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet Gerri’s family on Saturday, June 1st from 9-11:30am at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services 15 West End Ave. Haddonfield, NJ. Her funeral mass will immediately follow at Christ the King RC Church, 200 Windsor Ave. Haddonfield, NJ at noon. Interment at Arlington Cemetery in Pennsauken, NJ. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations in Gerri’s name may be made to Sarama Animal Rescue, 301 Central Ave., Voorhees, NJ 08043.
