Charles A. Heinz
Charles passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025.
Born in 1948, Charles was raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. He was the youngest of five siblings. He was predeceased by his parents, Naomi and Harry Heinz; his sister, Naomi Schramm (Bob); and his brothers, Harry Heinz (Kathy) and William Heinz (Kathleen). He is survived by his beloved sister, Kathleen (Heinz) Pugh (Ron) of Cherry Hill.
Charles was a devoted uncle to William E. III (Eileen) and Michael Wambach; Brad (Sandy), Craig, Terry (predeceased) and Christian (Gina) Heinz; Denise (Christopher) Krieger; Karen (Thomas) Fitzgerald; and Robert Schramm Jr (Ellen). He was also a proud and loving great-uncle to 18 nieces and nephews, who brought him endless joy. We will always cherish our many holidays and family events with Uncle Charles surrounded by his love and generosity.
He dedicated more than 25 years of his career to Aramark Food Services, where he worked as a Certified Public Accountant.
After retirement, he embraced his love of travel-exploring new places and creating cherished memories along the way. We will always think of him when we travel, because he taught us how to embrace the journey—even taking a trip shortly before he passed.
Charles also had a deep appreciation for literature and gardening, passions that brought him great peace and fulfillment. He will be remembered for his kind spirit, quiet humor, and deep devotion to his family and the natural world. Whenever you listen to good music, read a new book, travel the world, hike the parks or give thoughtful gifts to all, think of Uncle Charles.
Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Charles’s honor may be made to the National Park Foundation, Attn: Gift Processing, P.O. Box 17394, Baltimore, MD 21298-9450, or online at www.nationalparks.org.
