Bruce Dennis Lundgren
Bruce D. Lundgren, son of the late Don & Margaret (Née Joyce) Lundgren died peacefully in his residence in Connecticut on Friday evening December 12, 2025 from Kidney cancer.
He was born on April 5, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Haddonfield, New Jersey. He belonged to the First Baptist Church when, in his youth he became an Eagle Scout and amateur radio operator (WA2UOF). He was a 1965 graduate of Haddonfield Memorial High School.
During the “Summer of Love” (1967) he married a young widow and adopted her 4-year-old daughter. In 1970 he completed his B.A. degree from Temple University. In 1975 he earned an M.P.H. Degree in Environmental Health from the University of Oklahoma. Bruce was a Public Health Officer for 15 years in New Jersey and 18 years in Connecticut. He could be firm without being dictatorial, disagree without causing offense, nor was there ever a doubt that when he spoke, he knew what he was talking about.
After he relocated, Bruce married a second time to Kathryn Mary Josephs, from Sterling, Connecticut. They had no children but were married for 36 years.
He belonged to Freemasonry, Rotary, Sons of Norway, and the MG Auto Club. His hobbies included boating and SCUBA diving. He was an avid reader of Philosophy and history. He became a published author in May 2025 writing his book “Memoirs of a Health Inspector True Stories”.
He is survived by his wife: Kate, his daughter: Kris and three grandsons: Adam, Erik, and Hayden, sisters: Kathy and Debbie, and brother: Gary, Nephew: Joel Badzinski, Nieces: Elissa Richmond, Meghan Sangiovanni, Angela Lundgren, and Shannon Rothstein.
