Allison Jeanne MacDonald
It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Allison Jeanne MacDonald on June 2, 2026 following a short illness.
Allison J. Smith was born on October 12, 1955 and was raised in Gloucester City where she excelled academically and athletically. Following college, she returned to Gloucester to complete an impressive 43 year career as an elementary school teacher. Her impact on her students, fellow educators, and her community was well known then, and now at the time of her passing as evidenced by the countless messages of love and gratitude being extended to her.
Allison was the beloved wife of Kevin N. MacDonald, with whom she shared nearly 40 years of marriage. She was the adored mother of two sons; Kevin N. MacDonald Jr. (Amanda) of Tampa, Florida and Christopher K. MacDonald (Melissa) of Cherry Hill. Allison was the cherished grandmother of Palmer Madison MacDonald and Nash Hayes MacDonald. She was also blessed with her newest grandchild, Mila Kate MacDonald, born on May 31, just two days before she passed. She was also the dear sister of Robert C. Smith (Janet) of Middletown, Del.
She is also survived by other loving family members, and an enormous number of loyal friends with whom she shared her enduring love, great sense of humor, and endless generosity to all.
Allison’s family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 from 9 -11AM at the First Presbyterian Church, 20 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, where her memorial service will begin at 11:00AM. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Allison loved daisies, but in lieu of flowers, and in recognition of her deep love of animals, donations may be made in her honor at the Voorhees Animal Orphanage – www.aonj.org/support/donate
